I’ll take this opportunity to be a complete homer and say congratulations to Peter Nowak and DC United players for clinching the Supporters Shield. I would have been nice if it was due to a United win as opposed to a Dallas loss (to Columbus no less), but it just goes to show that those games at the beginning of the season do mean something. In most European leagues DC United would be considered the league champions, but here in the MLS that honor is reserved for the winners of the playoffs, which will hopefully be DC as well.
