How in the world can the headline be ‘US Struggles’ based on what is in that article. They talked about using some 2nd string players, nobody knew WHO played. Sure you’d hope they would win 5-0 angainst Angola, but nothing in that articles says they struggled. Must be nice to be a copy editor writing headlines and making stuff up as you go along.
After I posted the link, I too realized that nowhere in the article did the word ’struggle’ appear. The Angola coach seemed to imply that it was an evenly played match. I would guess, as you state, that for a copy editor who doesn’t know much about soccer, playing the 57th ranked country in the world translates into struggling? Who knows.
Reyna played well and thats good to hear. That’s all I can and will take away from the game.
